Affection

A poem written during Spring 2014.

Desensitization,

selectively losing my sight

as cheap poison

bitters my palate.

Then those fridgid hands

clench my throat

promising protection

suffocating my soul.

And against this facade

I force myself to swallow

luscious lies

that fill me hallow.

Below is the song Affection by Crystal Castles which inspired the name and tone of this poem.
